There are gestures over time that are best understood when you look at them closely, like details that at first seem insignificant, yet suddenly reveal who you have become. CNTL is like that: a shorter name, certainly, but filled with the same substance. It is the essential form of who we have always been. A contraction of our identity, of our name Cantele, that does not take away, but reveals.

In 2001, when the third generation joined the company, our range of wines already had a history (please don’t call it an “entry-level” line). In fact, it was the only one we had: four restrained, classic labels, the result of the careful and rigorous work of Augusto and Domenico, who had already built credibility around the name Cantele.

When we arrived, it was not about changing direction, but about adding a new element. We felt the need to expand that range and to give it a different visual language as well: more contemporary, more colourful, closer to a generation that was beginning to look for a sign, a style, an identity in wine. That is how an instinctive, vibrant and immediate graphic language was born, in tune with the energy of those years.

That language has accompanied us for twenty-five years, updated over time with respect, never radically altered. Today we recognise its value: it helped shape a visual identity that grew alongside us. Colour, spontaneity and energy are not simply traces of the past, but elements that still belong to who we are. Over time, that identity has become more refined, finding a new balance, a clearer measure, a form better suited to telling our story today.

CNTL, therefore, is not a break, nor a leap into the unknown. It is a conscious step forward, made of the same substance as before, but seen through a different lens. The new labels, once again designed by Elisa Costa of Label Design, retain the chromatic memory of the historic line, while re-encoding it into a more ordered and readable visual system. The central verticality, graphic clarity and balanced use of space are not a trend. They are the mark of design maturity, the perspective of those who have seen, listened and understood.

In an increasingly crowded visual world, where everything competes for attention, CNTL chooses to be clear, essential and recognisable. Through that process of contextual reconstruction that helps us complete what we already know, the human mind tends to read CNTL as Cantele. Not because it is obvious, but because there is a deep continuity built on experience, time, flavour and memory. If you have already enjoyed one of our wines, you know this story. If you are discovering us now, CNTL is an invitation: to look beyond the name, to feel beyond the label, and to find, in a simple gesture like filling a glass, something rooted in hands, history and words. It does not replace Cantele, but represents one of its most essential and direct expressions. A daily signature, standing alongside the other facets of our project, with the same perspective, the same voice, the same coherence.

CNTL is not a new beginning, but the next step.
Our signature, today.
