Rohesia Negroamaro
Rohesia is an ancient word. In medieval Latin, it meant “rose,” and that’s exactly where we began—over ten years ago—when we set out to create a project devoted to the most elegant and unexpected side of Negroamaro. A full-bodied, identity-driven rosé capable of telling the story of Salento in a new voice.
The wine is made from a careful selection of fully ripe Negroamaro grapes. Maceration on the skins lasts around 20 hours—just enough to extract structure, depth, and that bold color that’s an essential part of its personality. The winemaking process is rigorous, and aging takes place in stainless steel to preserve integrity, freshness, and aromatic precision.
Today, after more than ten harvests, Rohesia continues to evolve in the details while staying true to its vision. The new screw cap is both a technical and cultural choice: it protects the wine more effectively, ensures practicality and consistency, and allows us to take our idea of rosé even further, without compromising coherence.
In the glass, it’s enveloping, with aromas of pomegranate, cherry, rose petals, and subtle spices. On the palate, it’s savory and full, with a balance that invites conversation rather than haste. This is a food-friendly rosé—made to accompany, but also to endure.
Rohesia is our ongoing laboratory for Negroamaro. Each year brings a new detail, a new step forward. But always within a clear vision: rosé is not an interlude. It’s a choice.

Tasting Notes
COLOR
Bright coral pink—deep and luminous—with reflections that hint at the wine’s intensity on the palate.
NOSE
Broad and layered aromas: ripe red fruit—strawberry, cherry, peach—followed by floral notes of rose and violet. A subtle mineral hint, almost like flint, adds complexity and depth.
PALATE
Full, taut, and harmonious. The structure envelops the palate without weighing it down, supported by lively freshness and a savory note that extends the finish. Long persistence and an elegant close, consistent with the aromatic profile.
Food Pairings
Structured and generous, this intense rosé combines the strength of Negroamaro with the elegance of its coral hue. Its softness and long finish make it ideal for richer dishes, even those with a touch of spice or more complex preparations.
Excellent with flavorful first courses like orecchiette with white ragù, vegetable timbale, or a light parmigiana. Also pairs well with main dishes such as herb-crusted chicken or seared tuna. An interesting match with delicately spiced exotic cuisine, such as mild curries or fish tagines.
In Salento cuisine, it pairs beautifully with stuffed eggplants, pitta di zucchine, stewed cuttlefish, grilled scorpionfish, or mixed fried seafood. Versatile and expressive, it reflects a contemporary vision of Southern rosé.
